A Townsend Production brought to us through Rural Touring.
Centred on the contrasting lives of two British men and their stories, the play will shed light on the political and social world of the 1930s. Capturing the raw passions and emotions produced by the Spanish Civil War – idealism to despair, hope to anger, determination to fear – powerful storytelling, stirring song and poetry, and compelling movement and dance. This is a new play by Neil Gore, commissioned by the International Brigades Memorial Trust to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the Brigade and the Battle of Jarama in 1937.
