This free exhibition at Baysgarth House Museum explores the lives of the Lincolnshire iron miners that helped form our region
Find out about life underground in the ironstone mines of Claxby and Nettleton, a key driver in this region’s steel-making industry!
Discover the ancient sea creatures unearthed in the hunt for metals to feed Scunthorpe Steelworks, and explore the story of this area.
Listen to recordings of miners talking about their lives down the mines, and find out more about everyday life in this region in the 1950s and 1960s when the mines finally closed.
